Michigan Microbrewery March Madness: Game 6

With 3 hours left to play, Woodward Avenue Brewers and Detroit Beer Co. are neck and neck. Today we are heading back to the Northern Division where Right Brain Brewery takes on Founders Brewing Company. Right Brain Brewery from the good old Cherry Capital and offer a line up of exciting beers that keep fans coming back. Founders hails from G-Rap and is the southern most brewery in the Northern Division. Their selection of flavorful ales have built a loyal following. Some analysts believe Founders is the team to beat in the Northern Division.

Come back tomorrow to see Arcadia take on Dark Horse in the Kalamazoo River Division.

  1. Right Brain=Paul Westhead's Loyola-Marymount teams.

    Founder's= UCLA's John Wooden teams.

    It's no contest.

  2. @Chris, I have no idea what that means.

  3. I don't no what it means either, but I don't appreciate it.

    Itty Bitty, have you ever even been to Right Brain? If they win, I'll buy you a growler of anything you want.

  4. Who is this Itty Bitty character?

    All you need to know is that LMU won an NCAA championship, though they did so with such an unconventionally fast-paced system that one of their best players actually died on the court of a cardiac arrhythmia. John Wooden won ten NCAA championships with such all-time greats as Lew Alcindor (later Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) and Bill Walton, becoming the standard by which all other coaches are judged. In essence, I was making a comparison between convention vs. experimentation. Essentially, I'm saying Right Brain is great and admirable for its outside the box approach which can beat most others just by being so different, but it can't compete with Founder's, a nationally acclaimed brewery, with has outstanding takes on classic brews. It's so great at what it does, it doesn't need to experiment. It will just beat you on talent and quality and it's the brewery by which we judge all others.

    Really, I was just trying to make a forced basketball analogy because that is fun for me. Basketball dorkery is my beer snobbery.

  5. I suppose I could compare them to Rick Pitino's Kentucky teams with their constant full-court press, but they were less of an upstart as they now total 7 NCAA championships.

  6. Maybe a more appropriate analogy is to compare Founders to Melkor, also known as Morgoth Bauglir, who was served by the Balrogs, dragons, and, briefly, Ungoliant - an evil spirit in spider form; and Right Brain to Sauron, the chief lieutenant of Morgoth, who counted among his minions orcs, fell races of men, and Shelob, the last child of Ungoliant to trouble the unhappy world.

    Does that help?

  8. It began ages ago, when Ea was young and yet cloaked in antique mists of time before memory.
