Stinchfield Woods

Stinchfield Woods is a 314 hectare (777 acre) School of Natural Resources and the Environment Property just north of Dexter. The site was originally used to teach forestry management. Currently Stinchfield enjoys several uses including light recreational activities, and some research (including mine!). Punctuating Stinchfield's canopy are several optical and radio telescopes and WUOM's broadcast antenna.

I visited Stinchfield on Friday and snapped some pictures of these abandoned observatories. It's weird to see expensive scientific infrastructure abandoned to the elements.
