Get ready for juneberries

June's here and that means it's time for one of the best treats of late spring: juneberries, which are also known as serviceberries. These delicious berries grow on large shrubs/small trees from the genus Amelanchier. They are close relatives of apples and taste like blueberry applesauce. Fortunately, they have been planted all over the city. There are tons of them on U of M's Campus by the Chemistry and Dana Buildings. They will be ripening in just a few days so keep your eyes peeled.
