Beers of summer

Looks like the nice weather is here to stay. That means the summer beer drinking season is upon us. It won't be long before the sweltering summer heat necessitate refreshing, palate quenching beers. Here are some summer beers I have been enjoying lately.

Farmhand Ale--Brewery Vivant: This French farmhouse style ale is light and crisp. It's very slightly sour. It was the perfect beer after my ill fated attempt to mow the lawn with a push mower on Tuesday night.

All Day IPA--Founders: this session IPA packs some great floral hops flavor without the bitterness or gravity of some stronger IPAs out there.

Green Thumb IPL--Wolverine State Brewing Co.: If you really want to explore the complex flavors of Humulus lupulus, you might want to check out this session India Pale Lager. I know, it sounds crazy. But lager yeast produce a very clean fermentation which allows more of the hop's favor to stand out in the beer. Think about it.

Well gentle reader, these are three summer beers I have been enjoying. What are you planning to drink this summer?

  1. I just had a Frankenmuth Twisted Helles Lager for the first time. A good rival to Oberon.
