There are a lot of things you can legally do that you can't do in a public park, and I'm sure if dealing drugs became a legal thing, that would be one of the things kept out of parks. I should probably add that I haven't decided how I feel about making drugs legal.

As a woman, I can't go to Liberty Plaza. Even passing there, I've been approached by men and followed for blocks. I'd really like to be able to go there and sit to eat my lunch, but between the creepy men (some of whom have touched me) and the drugs there, I can definitely say that it is a public space where I don't feel safe.

If there were a day that I felt like risking my physical and emotional well being enough to sit there and eat my dang lunch anyway, I just might send the cops a tip if a drug deal or anything else nearby made me feel unsafe.Quinn Davishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11366920500608349473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2281014352729737607.post-89871531162824060252013-01-10T10:55:37.689-05:002013-01-10T10:55:37.689-05:00@Anon2,

I don't think it should be illegal. That said, I also think that it probably shouldn't be going on in a public park. Unless it becomes legal. This is classist, I think, but dealing in public places makes it seem like a place I wouldn't want to bring kids.
