Guide to Ann Arbor: Sled-DANG! In A2

So SnowMIgeddon/Snowtorious B.I.G. is upon us! Some of us don't have school, some of us don't have work and some of us have both. And you know what? No matter what you're doing today, you should go sledding at some point.

Sledding reduces us all down to the most basic form of happiness. We squeal, we tackle each other and, until you happen to toboggan your way through a fence (long story), you are invincible.

Ann Arbor rarely gets enough snow for my liking, and the sledding hills around here are always worked down to the dirt. But today, my friends, all of us — even us northern Michiganders — can sled down hills with equal amounts of glee and idiocy.

So don't screw it up! Here is my guide to four of the more popular snow hills in Ann Arbor. Luckily, all of them are pretty walkable for those of us living in A2. Veterans Park won by a landslide (get it?!) but there are plenty of other nearby hills that do the trick.

Photo credit to Dennis O'Reilly, capturing just how stupid we can look while sliding down the hill at Veterans Park.

  2. Older version of sledding: sitting in front of the fire with a cup of hot tea all day, switch to a nice glass of port after dark.

  3. Ed - Where do you think I got the idea? : )

Mama Schan - Josh LOLed again. I've been drinking tall glasses of milk in honor of all the snow. Cheers!
