Bike Porn: Pink chain fixie

Spotted this orange fixie sporting a nice pink chain in front of Pangea Piercing last weekend.

  1. I'd like it more if there were toeclips to help with skid stopping. That would make better use of the bullhorns, which really are for taking weight off the rear wheel as you go into a skid stop. Switch the rim brake to the front (and slide it up on the handlebars) so you can use it in conjunction with a wheel skid, save your neck in an emergency.

Now, a rush hour roadster built like that would scare me a little, because of the vertical dropouts. Skid too hard and you'll rip the wheel right off the frame. Horizontal drops are a must for any fixie IMO. We need to pressure the local bike shops to sell at least one fixed frame with horizontal drops. Maybe a Surly or Milwaukee Cycle frame.

    Thanks for the pic!
