Please Walk Bike

I see this sign everyday and I don't get it.

  1. I think it means you're supposed to walk your bike across the crosswalk, as opposed to riding it across.

  2. Looks like the collective subconscious has taken a real notice of that sign. I wonder if the point they're trying to make with it is "Please actually stop at the intersection at the bottom of that crazy hill you just flew down." Weird way to say it though. Weird sign. It's all weird Ben! It's just weird.

  4. Yeah, I usually blow through that intersection (when there is no opposing traffic). I mean I've built up so much speed, why would I want to want to waste it?

Does anyone know if there are other examples of this sign in Ann Arbor?

  5. @Ely, it's just past the railroad tracks...

  6. They're all over the place, but often they apply to sidewalks. There is one on the west side of State St. just south of Washington.
