Much ado about donuts

The ArborWiki article on donuts is a manic rant that is nothing if not amusing. Apparently, there is a heated debate (Do we have any non-heated debates in Ann Arbor?) about whether you can actually find "real donuts" in Ann Arbor.

From the article:
Zingerman's Roadhouse makes donuts. Look at this shit. What's the damage for a roadhouse donut? ($1.25. for one (1) donut) Take advantage of the imploding state economy, liquidate your whatever, have a donut! An embedded nanocorrespondent recommends getting sour cherry preserves with your ZingDonuts (tm), or a mind-blowing apple bacon donut.
I guess this begs the question: where's the best donut in Ann Arbor?

  1. Disclosure: I was part of that debate, and my Twitter icon is a doughnut. I truly believe that the *best* doughnut is the one in your hand at the time.

  2. I don't know WEATHER you can find "real donuts" in Ann Arbor. Perhaps you should consult a meteorologist.

  7. I still morn the loss of Dough Boy donuts. Nowhere in Ann Arbor compares to their glazed, sour cream donuts. I have lost 10 pounds since they went out of business. A fresh, Washtenaw Dairy maple-glazed donut is pretty darn good though (I wouldn't go out of my way to get one - hence I have not regained those 10 Dough Boy donut pounds), and rumor has it that they have no transfat.
