Art Prize



There is a perennial debate in the Damn Arbor's main office about whether Grand Rapids is "cool" or not. I think things like Art Prize are pretty cool. The gauntlet has been thrown. Anyway, Art Prize starts September 21 and runs through October 9.

    I used to think it was not cool, but I changed my mind. No question, Art Prize has definitely ramped up the buzz for it.

    Artprize Effect: Thousands of pedestrians downtown on a Thursday in mid afternoon. I bet there were 1,000 people on a pedestrian bridge over the river looking at sculptures in the water.

    However, the Amway folks are pretty scary.
