Discover Ann Arbor, a new promotional video

Man, Ann Arbor looks great! Three thoughts: 1. While noting many aspects of the music scene, the Mayor fails to note our thriving crust-punk community.

2. Do locals really call Main Street "Restaurant Row"?

3. The video's producers seem to have captured all of our seasons: spring, summer, and mild autumn. Is this video aimed at drawing in folks from the sunbelt?

  1. 4. North Campus didn't make it in the video at all. It isn't the most attractive place, but there are snippets that are photogenic, like the reflecting pool, the wave field, and Stamps Auditorium.

  2. What, kayaking in the snow doesn't impress you? Tough crowd.

  3. Makes me laugh that they have a guy playing with a dog in a public park... which everyone knows that pisses off lots of people!

  4. At 3:39 it looks like there's a sculpture with a diagram of a molecule engraved into it- anyone know where that is? I can't believe I've never seen that before!

  5. Seriously. I clicked to play. Saw it was 10 minutes long and then turned it off after 2 seconds. Is there a 90 second version?
