Some call them junberries, others call them serviceberries, shadberries or Saskatoon berries. Personally I call them the fruit of Amalenchier sp. Gentle readers, regardless of what you call these delicious berries, they are approaching peak ripeness. That means you only have a few days to get them before the squirrels do. You can find them in abundance around the chemistry building and many other places in town.
