The pilot for Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein's new comedy, Portlandia, makes it seem that way. Be sure to check out the sketch with couple trying to decide if a restaurant's chicken is sufficiently free range (@3:55).
The opening to this reminded me alot of Brooklyn and even certain slivers of Chicago. I guess there's a little Portlandia all over. I have to say though, I haven't really noticed much of this in AA yet (I am new here, however), at least not any more than I see in other college towns.
I tell people in Portland that Ann Arbor is a little Portland.
ReplyDeleteIn Portland, you miss out on Ann Arbor's lovely winters.

ReplyDeleteThe free range chicken skit really reminds me of Ann Arbor, or certain Ann Arborites.
