Michigan Microbrewery March Madness: Championship

Folks, the moment you have been waiting for is here. Today New Holland Brewing Co. takes on Arbor Brewing Company for the Michigan Microbrewery March Madness Championship. Senior Sports/Beer Correspondent, Chris Primeau, was at the weigh-in this morning where he recorded the poems each brewery read:

New Holland:
Last night I had a dream, When we got to the match,
We had one hell of a bout.
We had to beat Founders behind first,
For claiming to be King of the Stout.
For this fight, we’ve brewed with alligators,
We’ve drank with a whale.
We done bottled up lightning
And made thunder an ale.
You know we're bad.
just last week, we milled a rock,
distilled a stone, fermented a brick.
Our beer's so strong, we make medicine sick.
We're so great, man,
We can chug through a hurricane and don't get wet.
When Arbor Breing meets us,
They’ll pay their debt.
We can out drink water, and make malt from the wind.
Wait till you see the great New Holland!

Arbor Brewing Company:
This is the legend of the great ABC,
The most beautiful brewers you'll ever see.
They brew a great deal, and can out drink these dummies,
With a wonderful beer that's good for your tummies.
The micro world was dull and weary, but with beers like New Holland, things had to be dreary.
Then someone with hops and someone with yeast, brought beer fans an XPA feast.
This brash little brewery is something to see and the March Madness crown is its destiny.
These kids got an ale, these boys got a stout, if you drink more than one, it will knock you right out!

Thanks to everyone who has voted! It has been a great tournament.

  1. Now that New Holland won, I feel they should be named the official beer of Damn Arbor. They earned it.
