NPR has
a ridiculous story on the pawpaw, which it names "America's forgotten fruit."
Excuse me? Forgotten? By whom?
Just because it's apparently trendy for yuppie kayakers in DC to pick pawpaws from the Potomac, the story casts pawpaws as some obscure fruit that's finally reached its cotillion. One thing the article gets right, though - pawpaw season is short, so don't let them pass you by until next year's "rediscovery."
I really would like to try these. Know of any good places in or near Ann Arbor?
ReplyDeleteI visited one place I know has them, and it was picked clean. I'll keep my ear to the ground.
