Why you should watch the City Council meeting tonight

Gentle reader, I strongly encourage you to vote in your local elections, as well as the national ones this year. If you reside in Ann Arbor, Ypsi, and/or Washtenaw County, remember the August Primary is often a more significant election than the November one in terms of local politics. So, what does this have to do with watching the council meeting tonight? I'm glad you asked. Though watching city council meetings can be painful at times, it's a great way to get up to speed on local political issues, and to get to know the current council members. Best of all, you don't need a TV to watch. You can watch live from the convenience of your computer here. Also, local tweeters @juliewbee and @cdzombak often provide some great live tweetentary for the meetings. So, gentle reader, if you can, please vote in your local elections this year and please do your best to know what issues matter most to you.
