Stevie Wonder Boycotting Michigan

Stevie Wonder, Michigan Native, might never perform in Michigan again. According to several sources, Wonder stated at a Quebec concert:
I decided today that until the Stand Your Ground law is abolished in Florida, I will never perform there again. As a matter of fact, wherever I find that law exists, I will not perform in that state or in that part of the world. As I said earlier, you can't just talk about it, you have to be about it.
I think this is pretty nice.

  1. Whoa! Michigan is a Stand Your Ground State?

  2. Source. Signed by Jennifer Granholm back in 2006. I'll take a purely speculative guess and say that 'Stand your ground' laws don't seem particularly bad on paper. You are allowing armed, law-abiding the right to stand up against criminals. Everyone loves that, right?

Unfortunate, I can't imagine the current political atmosphere in Michigan will be repealing the law anytime soon either.
