Petersen becomes 4th candidate to enter Mayoral Race

The .News is reporting that Ward 2 Democratic Councilmember, Sally Hart Petersen, has announced plans to run for Mayor of Ann Arbor. She joins Stephen Kunselman (D-Ward 3), Christopher Taylor (D-Ward 3), and Sabra Briere (D-Ward 1) in campaigning for the highest office in the city. In other Election 2014 news, the Chronicle is confirming that Julie Grand will be campaigning for Chris Taylor's Ward 3 seat. They are also reporting that incumbents Chuck Warpehoski (D-Ward 5) and Sumi Kailasapathy (D-Ward 1) have pulled petitions to run for reelection. At this point, I don't know of any contested city council races. Gentle Readers, if you too are thinking about throwing your hat into the ring and running for Mayor of Ann Arbor, keep in mind that you only need to get 50 signatures from each of the 5 Wards on your nominating petitions.
UPDATE: The .News is reporting that Kirk Westphal will be seeking the open Ward 2 seat left open by Sally Hart Petersen.
UPDATE 2: Sabra Briere is D-Ward 1.
UPDATE 3: Margie Teall (D-Ward 4) is reported to not be running for re-election, says the Chronicle; Graydon Krapohl will run for the 4th Ward seat.
